What we teach
House of Yoga is the first yoga studio in Sydney to offer a variety of different styles of yoga classes to suit different tastes and moods. We believe that all yoga comes from the same source. It is just taught in different ways. Desekar Char said, “ Even though the class may be taught differently, it all goes back to the source of feeling peace, bliss and ecstasy”.
House of Yoga brings the tradition of yoga to modern times and today’s lifestyles. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual journey that takes us into the true realms of living life and inwardly to our true self. Our inspirational and open-minded teachers teach from their heart and life experiences. They offer infinite possibilities for you to learn, grow and be inspired. Let the journey begin!
Is a dynamic and beautiful practice of linking breath and movement that gives you a full body work out while relaxing the body and mind. Classes are fun, challenging and inspiring. The room is control heated to 25-30 degrees to warm your muscles and cleanse the body by flushing toxins.
Beginners classes are suitable for everyone, but are designed for beginners. These classes will focus on the foundations of a safe and healthy yoga practice.
Is a fitness regime accessible to everyone and designed to increase one’s overall health and physical agility while having fun and creating beauty. AntiGravity is an acrobatic performance company whose daily workout utilises the AntiGravity® Hammock. The technique was created by Christopher Harrison, a professional gymnast and ex-Broadway dancer for the sake of exploring the air and has been modified and enhanced to fit into the yoga mold and to cater to the everyday athlete. By adding additional techniques from dance, pilates and calisthenics, AntiGravity has created a complete workout that is certain to get you in shape while realigning your spine from the compression of gravity. AntiGravity® Yoga takes into consideration both meanings of the word — working to manipulate physics while staying lighthearted.
AntiGravity® Aerial Yoga
Classes are designed to challenge you and take your practice to another level. You will experience challenging sequences and poses. Like our other classes, they are fun and inspiring, but are not suitable for beginners. Must have attended a handful of open AntiGravity® Yoga classes and be confident inverting in the hammock.
Explore the evolution of AntiGravity® Aerial Yoga into 3-dimensional space. This body/mind/spirit provides everything you need to go deeper in more challenging Aerial Yoga poses.
Embody your AntiGravity Yoga knowledge base and discover your own potentials with new challenging flying poses and vinyasa variations in the Harrison AntiGravity® Hammock.
AntiGravity® Restorative Yoga
Is the gentle, meditative, slow stretching and rehabilitative version of AntiGravity Aerial Yoga. This approach is perfect for those with a lower fitness level, or those who just like an approach that gives you time to tune in at a deep level.
This powerful method focuses the mind through powerful visualisations as it floats the body through a series of gentle gyro-kinetic motions, deeply opening the entire spine, hips, and connective tissues of the body.
This technique features full body inversions, alongside various forms of flowing spinal traction. It offers accessibility to al students, but loved by all as a portal into deeper spinal flexibility, and mind/body connection.
Taught in a sequential flow to music, the class incorporates levitating meditations, zero-compression inversions, supported sun salutations, joint opening poses, and a floating sivasana. Working from different hammock heights allows for the gentle opening of hips and spine.
Please wear a T-shirt with sleeves in class and do not wear any jewellery. Contraindications for inversions: Abnormal blood pressure, heart disease, recent surgeries or back surgery, glaucoma, pregnancy and vertigo. Please monitor your resistance and see a physician if you are unsure.

Embodied Flow Inspired
Embodied Flow™ is a continuum of movement and expression that draws from the discoveries of various hatha, tantric and somatic movement systems in order to experience yoga as a living art form.
Embodied Flow™ provides the technology for a deep sense of ease, strength and connectivity in the human form. This in turn, empowers the practitioner to be their own greatest teacher as they expand, integrate and facilitate awareness in their entire body-mind.
Blends the spiritual wisdom of yoga, the loving kindness of Thai massage and the fiery practice of Acrobatics. AcroYoga sessions include a circle ceremony, dynamic Vinyasa Yoga practice, inversions, spotting, partner acrobatics, therapeutic flying and Thai massage. This practice cultivates trust, connection and playfulness. Working with each other, we will explore selected elements of the Acro Yoga practice in a safe and supported class environment. Everyone is welcome- no partner necessary, but be prepared to make friends and have fun!
Is the perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasise internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. Our yin classes will focus on longer holds in the postures (asanas) and breath (pranayama) awareness. It’s a beautiful class inviting the body to soften and mind to relax.
Invites you to relax, rest deeply and completely and alleviate any stress from the day. They are designed to put you in a Savasana (dead body pose) state the entire class, so you feel nourished and rejuvenated by the end of class. The postures are usually deeply supported by blankets, blocks, or other props and are held for several minutes at a time. These relaxing poses are followed up by a beautiful meditation.
